Alva Industries is scaling its commercial operations in North America and is seeking an Application Engineer to play a key role alongside our Sales Manager in driving
regional growth and customer success
. Alva I based in Trondheim, Norway, so this is a 100% remote position and we are looking for you that is based in North America
.
As our new
Application Engineer
, you'll be in a
key technical customer-facing role
: helping our customers in North America navigate our advanced product portfolio and integrate our motors into their next-generation systems. You'll also play a
strategic role in shaping our future products
, acting as the bridge between market needs and product development.
- Support the sales team in technical discussions during customer meetings
- Help customers navigate our electric motor portfolio to find the optimal solution
- Perform performance calculations and sizing to ensure competitive, high-performing proposals
- Provide hands-on support during customer evaluation, testing, and system integration
- Maintain a deep understanding of Alva’s motor technology, capabilities, and differentiators
- Serve as a key link between customers and the engineering team to ensure successful outcomes
- Prepare technical quotes and proposals in collaboration with engineering and sales
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar
- Experience in application engineering or product management within motion systems (e.g. electric motors, encoders, gearboxes, or servo drives)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Experience integrating and testing motion control systems
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Familiarity with PLM and CRM systems
- Basic programming skills (e.g. Python, C, or graphical environments like LabVIEW)
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events (up to 50%)
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Strong planning and execution skills
- Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Customer-focused mindset: accurate, responsive, and committed to solving problems
