Job Title: Project Engineer | Commercial Doors & Hardware
Location: Remote (Work From Anywhere in the U.S.)
We're partnered with a well-established commercial contractor in the Division 8 space to help them hire a Remote Project Engineer (Detailer) with strong door and hardware detailing experience. This is a fully remote role with a team that values flexibility, trust, and real work-life balance.

Role OverviewAs a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate shop drawings, submittals, and related documentation for commercial door and hardware projects. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure every project is detailed correctly and aligned with specs.
This is a remote position with steady workflow, strong internal support, and clear expectations.
Key ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed shop drawings, submittals, and related documents for multiple ongoing projects
Review architectural plans and specs to ensure accurate detailing
Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and internal teams to maintain alignment
Use industry software (Emullion preferred) to generate drawings and submittals
Identify and resolve discrepancies in drawings or specs
Communicate with suppliers/manufacturers to ensure product accuracy in all documents
Maintain consistent communication with architects, clients, and internal stakeholders
Meet deadlines for submittals and project documentation
Stay current on industry standards, materials, and best practices
Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial door & hardware detailing
Proficiency in Emullion or similar detailing software (preferred)
Strong understanding of door and hardware products and industry standards
Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications
Solid technical skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.)
Clear communicator who can collaborate well in a remote environment
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong problem-solving ability and the confidence to make informed decisions
Able to work independently with minimal oversight
