Position Summary:
The Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting in monitoring and coordinating the company's safety programs, including the Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, safety audits, and training. This is an in-person position in (location), and remote work arrangements are unavailable for this role.
Your Role:
- Monitor and communicate compliance with Company wide safety programs, such as driving logs, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and other safety compliance programs.
- Advises Safety Manager on procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Department of Transportation track, and communicate safety incidents across the company.
- Analyzes accident and incident reports for trends and makes recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
- Leads and/or guides safety mentors and student interns.
- Responsible for all driver file compliance.
- Responsible for the compliance and administration of the drug and alcohol testing program.
- Assists with the investigation of incidents and injuries from initial report to closure.
- Worker's Compensation liaison with managers, employees, brokers, insurance carriers, safety, and human resources.
- Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.
- Maintains reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.

Requirements:
- BS/BA in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's License and vehicle insurance.
- Ability to travel.
