Lockheed Martin MFC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to act as the technical backbone for the program, leveraging multidisciplinary development methods to move concepts to flight‑ready hardware. The role is based in Dallas, Texas and requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities- Creating and iterating electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring harnesses for the air vehicle, launcher, launch mechanism, and control electronics.
- Applying mechanical design principles for packaging, thermal management, and structural integrity of each subsystem.
- Troubleshooting system issues in the lab and on site, rapidly diagnosing faults and implementing fixes.
- Specifying, procuring, and organizing build material inventories while maintaining traceability and compliance with program standards.
- Supporting “pathfinder” design maturity spirals: fabricating prototypes, conducting functional tests, and feeding results back into the design loop.
- Collaborating with internal engineers, external vendors, and integration partners to synchronize interfaces and schedules.
- Documenting design decisions, test data, and lessons learned in clear, auditable reports.
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering an inclusive, collaborative team culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- U.S. citizenship with eligibility for DoD Secret clearance.
- Electrical interconnect design experience (power, networking, discrete signaling).
- AC and DC power distribution, signal integrity, shielding and grounding expertise.
- Mil spec connector and cable design knowledge.
- CCA design and manufacturing experience (requirements, BOM, schematic capture, layout, test, and integration).
- Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
- Familiarity with the MFC Design Assurance Process.
- Strong communication skills with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment to meet aggressive schedules.
- Self‑starter mentality with capacity to operate with little direct supervision.
- Rapid prototyping experience (additive and traditional manufacturing).
- Aptitude to interface with local subject matter experts for task planning and prioritization.
- Technical contribution to mechanical design/analysis for AUR subsystems.
- Experience with RF systems including radars, jammers, and electronic attack.
- Leadership or experience in hardware design/analysis groups.
- Experience designing, developing, or integrating components for a fixed‑wing UAV system.
- Proficiency in Creo/Wind Chill.
- Proficiency in Allegro Cadence/Mentor Graphics.
Flexible work schedules and comprehensive benefits packages are available. The position will involve a mix of on‑site and part‑time remote work with a 4x10 hour day schedule, 3 days off per week.
