** POSITION SPECIFICS
** The at Penn State is seeking applicants for a
** Controls Engineer
** position that will be responsible for providing Engineering Controls support to all utility operating units of the University, which include all industrial control systems.
*
* Key Responsibilities:

*** Developing control systems and strategies for industrial applications.
* Performing system and network calculations to ensure stability and reliability.
* Programming and implementing PLCs, SCADA systems, and DCS systems.
* Collaborating with other engineers, technicians, and clients to discuss and solve problems related to the system.
* Developing and maintaining system documentation, including functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, and operational manuals.
* Integrating different components of a control system, including controllers, sensors, and actuators.
* Assessing and upgrading existing control systems as required.
* Providing technical support to the Controls Supervisor and the assigned technicians.
* Ensuring all Penn State, regulatory, and safety requirements are met.
* Staying updated with the latest control systems technologies and industry trends.
* Performing design reviews and maintaining the Design and Construction Standards.
** Additional Responsibilities:
*** Specifying, testing, and implementing steam plant generator control systems, black start procedure, and island mode automation.
* Assisting with the integration of all utilities into a centralized control room.
* Supporting electrical utility engineering for new construction, power system analysis, and distribution planning.
** MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree6+ years of relevant experience
