We are seeking an experienced R&D Systems Engineer for the W80-4 Life Extension Program. Our team is responsible for delivering and then sustaining the first new cruise missile warhead to enter the U.S. stockpile in more than 30 years.

On any given day, you may be called upon to:

* Develop and refine plans and processes to sustain the W80-4 stockpile.

* Mature and manage requirements for specific areas/components; deliver technical solutions for critical design elements.

* Lead systems integration with other systems engineers and product realization teams; represent Sandia on multi-organization project teams.

* Drive achievement of First Production Unit (FPU) in 2027 through coordination with systems, component engineering, and production agency partners.

* Partner with production agencies to identify and resolve system-level issues impacting production rate through Last Production Unit (LPU).

* Lead peer reviews, anomaly investigations, and issue management.

* Execute REST planning/testing, PETU activities, and the Annual Assessment Review.

* Present results to peers, customers, and management in formal and informal settings.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100% of the time.

Salary Range

$139,900 - $280,600

* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

* A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.

* Active DOE Q or DoD TS security clearance
