What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Facilities Technologist to lead the coordination and execution of electrical power outages across the Sandia NM site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and minimal impact to mission-critical operations.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

* Coordinate and plan all electrical power outages across the Sandia NM site to ensure safe and efficient execution.

* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical and mechanical engineers, fire protection, security, and planning departments to align outage schedules and requirements.

* Develop, review, and maintain detailed outage procedures and switching memos to support safe and compliant power interruptions.

* Communicate proactively with building occupants, maintenance teams, and external service providers to minimize operational impact and maintain mission continuity.

* Monitor and track outage progress, promptly addressing any issues or changes to maintain schedule and safety standards.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, site policies, and industry best practices during outage planning and execution.

* Facilitate post-outage reviews and lessons learned sessions to continuously improve outage planning processes.

* Maintain accurate documentation and records related to outage planning, approvals, and execution.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range

$63,800 - $123,400

* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

* High school diploma plus three (3) or more years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Experience coordinating electrical outages and/or maintenance activities in a large, complex facility or industrial environment.

* Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

* Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.

* Familiarity with electrical safety standards, switching procedures, and outage management processes.

* Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, safety personnel, security, and facility management.

* Strong organizational and communication skills demonstrated through managing schedules, writing technical procedures, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

* Experience with outage documentation, such as writing switching memos, procedures, and post-outage reports.

* Prior experience in a mission-critical or high-reliability environment is a plus.

* Experience working in a facilities management and maintenance organization.

* Familiar with NNSA, DOE, or other federal government requirements.

* Knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage.

* Working knowledge and understanding in Facilities engineering and construction as well as industry standard methodologies.

* Proven ability to initiate effective internal customer relationships.

* Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion as well as effectively prioritize and implement multiple high rigor tasks in a high-pressure environment.
