Description:Initial responsibilities are a combination of office and field work related to landfill design, operation and post-closure care. Tasks include: data analysis (geotechnical, hydrogeological, groundwater chemistry and landfill gas); design and troubleshooting of landfill gas extraction and leachate conveyance systems; water balance modeling; logging geological borings; and regulatory compliance and reporting.

LocationThis position is work-from-home but is based out of northern Illinois or southern Wisconsin. Your primary mentor is in South Beloit, Illinois and you’ll need to meet with coworkers and clients at project sites occasionally, mostly in northern Illinois.
QualificationsOur target range is new grads up to people with 10 years of related experience. Plus, we’re looking for the rare person who combines practical technical skills with self-motivation and the ability to communicate effectively.
A few other minimum requirements:
- B.S. degree (M.S. a plus) in civil, geotechnical, geological or mechanical engineering;
- Strong mechanical aptitude;
- P.E. license or working toward it;
- Fluent with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Access and/or AutoCAD a plus;
- Able to perform occasional field work;
- Good driving record and a valid driver’s license; and
- US citizenship or Green Card.
