Job Title:

Substation Project Manager

Job Description

As a Substation Project Manager, you will be part of a well-established global Power Delivery practice, managing substation projects of varying sizes and complexities. You will work closely with design teams to execute these projects, both domestically and potentially abroad.

Responsibilities

* Execute and manage all aspects of substation engineering projects, including scope and proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, quality control, scope, schedule, and budget management, and project closeout.

* Manage and lead projects and programs throughout their entire life cycle.

* Work independently or direct, mentor, train, and supervise Project Engineers, EITs, Coordinators, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative staff.

* Provide team member oversight regarding workload, schedule, quality, utilization, morale, and performance.

* Oversee non-engineering components of projects, such as public engagement, agency engagement, permitting, right of way acquisition, and construction management.

* Lead the QA/QC process according to Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements to deliver services and products exceeding client quality expectations.

* Support client management and engage in business development activities with existing and target clients.

* Coordinate with leadership and Talent Acquisition to develop a hiring plan for professional growth to meet program needs.

* Collaborate with staff in multiple offices to execute projects.

* Support marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.

Essential Skills

* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.

* Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.

* PE license preferred, PMP in lieu of PE.

* Experience or exposure to system projection and planning, communication, distribution, and transmission lines.

* Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Experience in public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition.

* Strong electrical knowledge, heavy industrial experience.

* Skills in project management, change order, RFI, project coordination, construction management, electrical and substation experience.

* Ability to interact with various design teams.

* Great communication skills, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Work Environment

This position is based in the Phoenix office. The role involves collaboration with multiple offices and requires excellent communication and project management skills to ensure successful project execution.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr.
