CAD Manager

We are in search of a CAD Manager to join our diverse and dynamic organization out of our Portland office. As a core team member of our Substation Section, you will be interacting with an established group of engineers, designers and drafters, playing a valuable part in executing drafting of accurate drawing packages for utility power delivery projects, using Micro Station and AutoCAD.

What you will bring to the table:

* AS degree in Drafting and Design degree from an accredited institution preferred. High School diploma or drafting certificate with additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

* 5+ years of drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or Micro Station. Coursework + project experience will be considered.

* Background with direct report supervision and day-to-day people leadership

* Proficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and Micro Station.

* Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.

* QA/QC of drawings produced by the drafting team

* Ability to work with the Engineering Manager and other Leads/Supervisors to assign and schedule the day to day work of individual CAD operators, assigning/changing priorities and monitoring status

* Skilled in Doc Control, Drawing Records Management, Preliminary and final IFC issuance

* Knowledge of file sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as Project Wise, FTP, SharePoint, Fusion, Meridian, Autodesk Vault, Workfront etc.

* Experience with creating process improvement policies, tools, and client specific CAD guides for drafting and engineering teams.

* Support remote office overflow CAD workload on a need and availability basis. This will require coordination with other CAD Supervisors in Leidos offices.

* Strong professional verbal and written communication skills within a team environment.

* Highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented.

* Ability to perform tasks in a fast paced engineering/production environment.

It would be nice if you had:

* Experience working with protection and control and substation physical drawings for electric utility transmission projects

* The ability to comprehend and implement a wide range of client CAD standards.

* Experience with 3-D modelling in Micro Station, AutoCAD, and/or Inventor.

* Experience with AutoCAD Electrical

* Knowledge of VBA and/or Auto Lisp.
