In support of our client, a global chemicals manufacturer, Resource Tek is seeking a qualified Capital Projects Engineering Manager to oversee a portfolio of capital projects at the client’s chemical manufacturing facility in South Carolina.
This position will oversee projects ranging from small to medium in size and complexity, typically valued between $50K and $3M.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing capital project execution within a Process Safety Management (PSM) covered chemical manufacturing environment, including experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes. This role will be based on-site at the client’s facility, though the client may be open to a hybrid schedule with a limited remote work component.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage multiple capital projects from planning through execution and closeout
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including PSM and MOC procedures
- Maintain strong project documentation and ensure appropriate checks and balances are in place throughout project execution
- Track project performance, costs, schedules, and approvals while ensuring key decisions and changes are properly documented
- Support process improvements, operational reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts
- Communicate project updates, risks, and status reports to internal stakeholders and leadership
- 10+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or industrial plant environment
- Strong background in Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Experience with process engineering and design
- Proven experience managing capital projects in a manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail
- PMP certification and/or PE registration preferred
