The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure for our organization. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL location.
Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants are encouraged to apply, only if they are willing to work on-site.
This role involves assisting in the network architecting of new constructions, managing inter-site network transport, and integrating test station systems. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with virtual networking technologies, firewalls, and quality of service, as well as proficiency with Cisco and DELL switches and routers. This position requires a strong understanding of dynamic routing protocols and multicast traffic management.
Responsibilities- Assist in the design and implementation of network architecture for new construction projects, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Support inter-site network transport solutions to facilitate reliable communication between multiple locations.
- Integrate test station systems into existing network infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Configure and manage NSX for virtual networking to enhance network flexibility and security.
- Implement and maintain firewall configurations to protect network resources from unauthorized access and threats.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, focusing on quality of service (QoS) to prioritize critical traffic.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco and DELL switches and routers to ensure reliable network operations.
- Collaborate with team members to implement and manage dynamic routing protocols, specifically OSPF, for efficient network routing.
- Manage multicast traffic and configurations to support various applications and services across the network.
- Document network configurations, processes, and best practices to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
- Willingness to embrace change and work in a dynamic environment.
- May require alternate work schedules shift work, EWW and potentially some weekend work.
- Potential travel (10%) to support program activities and integration.
