Mechanical Engineer (Atmospheric Systems Engineering) – Job Description
Brooks Automation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to participate in all aspects of mechanical design and development of new products for the semiconductor industry.
What You'll Do- Participate in all aspects of mechanical design and development of new products, owning the full life cycle from concept through production release.
- Design new products for the semiconductor industry and create new mechanical features for existing products.
- Produce and release 3‑D models, drawings, and BOMs according to company processes.
- Work cooperatively with electrical and software engineering to ensure new product designs meet market and customer requirements.
- Understand and communicate the cost impact of new designs.
- Build prototypes.
- Support operations, supply chain, field service, and quality organizations to sustain and reliably operate product lines.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an automation product development environment with knowledge of semiconductor equipment.
- 3‑D CAD modeling (ProE & Solid Works) and FEA/CFD of mechanical designs.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of robotic components, including motors, bearings, sensors, and actuators.
- Working knowledge of automation controls, robotics, and semiconductor system integration.
- Knowledge of materials and good design practices for selected materials.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Hands‑on skill for assembly and troubleshooting of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Ability to estimate tasks, complete projects, and follow schedules.
- Knowledge of SEMI standards is a plus.
- Experience with Agile/Agile
EC is a plus. - Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
Base Salary Range: $84,178.82 USD to $ USD. Pay may vary based on geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
