Salary Range: $110,000 - $300,000
L5: $110,000 - $220,000; L6: $150,000 - $300,000

The range represents the amount BNSF Tech reasonably expects to pay for the position based on the level, scope, and responsibilities of the role. Individual compensation and level of position offered is determined by the hiring location and additional factors including but not limited to job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

This is a full‑time remote position. Employees may work from anywhere within the contiguous 48 states of the United States.

Travel is up to 20%. Employees will be required to occasionally travel to our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, TX for in‑person meetings. Travel expenses for business needs will be covered by BNSF.

As a Software Engineering Manager or Staff Software Engineering Manager (SAP Platform Manager), you will lead and mentor engineering teams across a variety of SAP technical domains. You will drive architectural decisions, ensure engineering excellence, and deliver innovative solutions that impact core freight movement operations. You will serve as a key technical leader responsible for the strategy, governance, and delivery of SAP platforms, collaborating cross‑functionally with infrastructure, security, compliance, and business stakeholders to align SAP capabilities with organizational goals.

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SAP engineers and developers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
• Define and drive SAP platform strategy, architecture, and roadmap in alignment with enterprise technology goals and business requirements.
• Oversee the design, development, configuration, and maintenance of SAP solutions across relevant functional and technical domains.
• Partner with business stakeholders, solution architects, and cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into scalable, reliable SAP solutions.
