Location: St. Clair, MI, US
Hybrid Role: This role is hybrid, with an established schedule of in-person work required at an assigned work location. Any remote work is expected to be performed from an employee’s primary residence, unless allowed (or prohibited) through the Company’s remote work guidelines.
Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
Job SummaryIntermediate level engineer responsible for independently evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Uses judgement in applying or recommending adaptations and modifications. Typical assignments are in the areas of engineering or scientific design, problem solving, and technical support for the optimum operation and maintenance of company assets. Participates on teams of field employees, technicians, engineers and other personnel.
KeyAccountabilities
- Performs engineering assignments, proposing solutions to engineering related problems.
- Works with experienced professionals to recommend and implement timely solutions involving routine engineering, design, operation, maintenance of company assets and market optimization.
- Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems within time and budget constraints.
- Develops models and analyzes data in order to recommend solutions and/or improvements in processes and programs; develops and presents presentations to all levels of management and/or external parties.
- May provide field engineering assistance or technical support.
- Keeps up to date on current technology and market/technology trends.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 2 years of job relevant experience.
- Master's Degree in Engineering or job relevant discipline.
- Reliability experience preferred.
- Gas Transmission experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and Word.
- Intermediate analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
