X Supply Chain Department is critical to our ambitious growth. This role supports a major semiconductor manufacturing initiative through the management and execution of capital equipment purchases.
- Work directly with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies, supporting capital purchases and production consumables.
- Understand the technical aspects of production equipment to identify opportunities for cost, space, and process optimization.
- Use data analytics to identify and bring to fruition process‑related opportunities.
- Utilize negotiations to maximize value and ensure project timeline adherence while minimizing risk.
- Build and own overall project budgets, compile funding requests, and generate capital plans based on project timelines, including ownership of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the categories managed.
- Conduct research, benchmark, and gather market analysis for assigned categories.
- Communicate regularly to leadership on equipment status, schedules, risks, and mitigation actions, responding quickly to changes.
- Track and report projected and actual spend, assess budgetary risk, and provide clear budgetary analysis to enable timely decision making.
- Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk, enable continuous cost reduction, and align with company strategy on payment terms, cash targets, on‑time delivery, and cost savings.
- Build genuine relationships both internally and externally and drive cross‑functional teams to achieve consensus.
- Source, onboard, and develop new suppliers to accommodate rapidly evolving business needs.
- Work with the supply base to ensure support from vendors regarding set‑up, installation, repairs, and maintenance.
- Execute purchase orders and manage escalation process for purchase‑to‑pay issues.
- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in at least one of the following:
Engineering, Purchasing, Contract Negotiation, Material or Production Planning, Operations or Supply‑Chain Management, Material Cost Control, or Master Production Scheduling. - OR 10+ years of experience in at least one of the same categories.
- Strong technical background to speak the language of engineers and strong business background to handle contracts and negotiations.
- Experience purchasing across multiple categories.
- Extensive project management and organizational skills.
- Experience managing large‑scale capital projects.
- Remarkable problem‑solving skills with a bias for speed.
- Quick learner with the ability to prioritize to meet customer and company needs.
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated integrity in all activities.
- Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast‑moving and ever‑changing environment.
- Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours – up to 25% travel, including international.
- Willingness to work long hours and weekend when needed to meet critical deadlines.
- Position based in Bastrop, TX; remote work not considered.
