We are looking for an R&D Engineering Manager to support our SJE Rhombus and AMI Global brands.

This role will work out of our Detroit Lakes, MN location.

Detroit Lakes is the home office for SJE and is the leading manufacturer of our liquid level control products, including pump control panels, alarm systems, float switches, and level monitoring solutions. Our SJE Rhombus brand is a leading provider of liquid level control products and pump control solutions for the water, wastewater, and sewage industries across residential, commercial, municipal, industrial, and agricultural sectors.

Our AMI brand is a leading IoT connectivity solution for equipment via hardware, SaaS, and software. Its gateways and cloud‑connected solutions enable real‑time monitoring, control, analytics, and commercialization support.

• Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the development of new products, focusing on standard panels, alarms, and level sensors.
• Deliver innovative and high‑quality products to the industry on time.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Suzhou, China for growth, international product development, component sourcing, and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Partner with the AMI Global team for IoT‑connected product development.
• Work collaboratively with sales, manufacturing engineers, and other internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong leadership skills managing engineering or product development teams.
• Experience in hardware and firmware design (preferred).
• Willingness to incorporate new technologies into product design.
• Experience in new product development from concept through launch.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Experience with regulatory approvals, product testing, and technical documentation.
• A 4‑year degree in engineering or equivalent and 7‑10 years of experience required.

• Hours:
  
  Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
• Paid Time Off:
  Up to 240 hours of Flex Time Off in your first year plus 8 paid holidays.
• Starting salary: $120,000 – $150,000 per year depending on experience.
