The Contribution You’ll Bring To This Role

The Technical Drafter / BOM Specialist role requires a self-motivated attitude, ability to multitask, and the capacity to thrive in a timeline-driven environment. You should be experienced in CAD, detail-oriented, and driven to join our growing team. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining detailed technical drawings and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support engineering, manufacturing, and procurement processes.

You will bridge gaps and collaborate with sales, design, and production to ensure documentation is precise, up-to-date, and aligned with project requirements. You will also source new component part requirements, part number creation, and accurate costing for project demands.

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager, setting the stage for your career to soar. There is potential for advancement within 3–5 years as you contribute to organizational goals.

What You’ll Do At Justrite
  • Serve as a member of the engineering team to deliver timely, accurate information to the engineering, sales, and production teams, as well as internal and external customers.
  • Work directly with the Engineering Manager and the Engineering Team to answer questions and resolve issues raised by team members and other staff, including Sales and Operations.
  • Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on sales requests, engineering sketches, specifications, and design changes, and verify the accuracy of work performed by others in the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production teams to ensure drawing accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Ensure all drawings and BOMs comply with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Manage document control processes for engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in the standardization of drafting and BOM practices across projects.
  • Assist in various Continuous Improvement, VAVE, and Development initiatives to identify opportunities for cost savings, new projects, and improved processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the engineering team and production to ensure project flow is on time.
  • Willingness to learn and perform other tasks as required.
Your Skills And Expertise

Minimum qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree
  • Certification in Solid Works, and/or other 3D modeling software
  • Certification in AutoCAD
  • AutoCAD drafting experience with the ability to pull out features and develop and manipulate parts; review newly created parts to prepare for nesting operations

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed:

  • Engineering degree or working toward it is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Quick learner with drive to learn new things
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment

Compensation

The position offers a base salary ranging from $54,000 to $60,000. Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on location, relevant experience, and performance. This role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance total compensation when Justrite Safety Group and its business units achieve annual targets.
