Energy Consultant

Job Description

As an Energy Consultant, you will lead the assessment process, ensuring all collected data is accurate and complete. You will review contracted scopes of work for consistency with program guidelines, inspect building components such as insulation, windows, HVAC systems, and air sealing conditions, and identify sources of energy loss including air infiltration, thermal bypasses, and duct inefficiencies. You will analyze utility data and building performance to develop energy-saving recommendations and generate detailed audit reports with prioritized upgrade measures and estimated return on investment.

Compliance with BPI standards, local codes, and utility programs is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Lead and ensure accuracy in the assessment process.

+ Review contracted scopes of work for consistency with program guidelines.

+ Inspect building components for energy efficiency.

+ Identify sources of energy loss such as air infiltration and duct inefficiencies.

+ Analyze utility data to develop energy-saving recommendations.

+ Generate detailed audit reports with prioritized upgrade measures.

+ Ensure compliance with BPI standards and local codes.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Sustainability, or a related field.

+ BPI Certification (Building Performance Institute).

+ Ability to work independently.

+ Basic proficiency with tablets, mobile apps, or reporting software.

+ Comfortable being client-facing.

Experience with project management.

+ Knowledge of energy efficiency measures.

Work Environment

The role requires working 40 hours a week, fully remote from the field, Monday through Friday. The initial training will take place for a full week in the Indianapolis office, with hotel accommodation provided for non-local hires. Personal vehicles will be used for assessments, and mileage will be reimbursed at the GSA rate of 72.5 cents per mile. Positions are available in Crown Point, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
