Our client in the machinery manufacturing industry is looking for an Electrical Engineer to add to their team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will independently lead the design, development, and completion of electrical systems for custom industrial machinery, from concept through commissioning. You will be responsible for the electrical design across multiple active projects. Daily responsibilities include creating electrical schematics, developing panel layouts, troubleshooting equipment, and independently managing machine builds from concept through commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have experience within capital equipment, industrial machinery, automation, heavy manufacturing, or similar environments, along with proficiency in AutoCAD. To thrive in this role, you should be detail-oriented, technically driven, and highly self-motivated. This role requires the ability to design complete electrical panels and systems that fully meet project requirements with minimal to no guidance. Responsibilities- Create 2D electrical drawings and schematics of industrial machinery
- Develop electrical panel layouts and release engineering bills of material
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and specifications
- Collaborate with Mechanical and Controls Engineers on design and integration
- Support customers, service, production, and sales teams with technical guidance
- Implement product improvements to enhance safety, improve performance, and reduce costs
- Independently lead equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed
- Provide day-to-day engineering support to the shop floor during active machine builds
- Design electrical panels and systems that fully meet project requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience required
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within capital equipment, industrial machinery, automation, or manufacturing environments required
- Experience creating electrical schematics in AutoCAD required
- Ability to read ladder logic required
- Demonstrated ability to independently design complete electrical systems and panels from concept through completion required
