We’re seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with expertise in Geotechnical Engineering to join our mission-driven team. In this pivotal role, you’ll act as the bridge between our cutting-edge products and the contractors who rely on them. By understanding our customers’ evolving needs, you’ll help deliver tailored solutions that drive their success, as well as our own.
We are open to both full-time or part-time employment and contract-based arrangements depending on candidate experience, availability, and business needs.
LocationThis part-time role is headquartered in Omaha, NE, though we are open to remote candidates located within the continental U.S. (ideally within the Central Time Zone). Occasional travel to Omaha, customer sites, trade events, or testing locations may be required for collaboration, field support, and training activities.
Hiring BonusCandidates awarded this role will be eligible for a one-time $5,000 hiring bonus, in recognition of the expertise and leadership they bring to our engineering team. This bonus will be subject to the terms outlined in the offer letter and will be paid upon successfully completing the onboarding process.

- Work closely with Supportworks customers to analyze project needs, problem solve and design/recommend tailored solutions.
- Consult with design engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure job requirements are met with precision.
- Promote the use of Supportworks products, providing guidance and support to our customer network.
- Develop technical documents, specifications, case studies, training materials, and more.
- Share your expertise through webinars and in-person presentations for design professionals and customers.
- Assist with training our network of installing contractors on how to be successful on commercial projects, including bidding, equipment needs, understanding contracts, etc.
- Travel to trade shows and industry events to represent and spread awareness about Supportworks products and engineering methodologies.
- Collaborate with third-party agencies to secure and maintain product evaluation reports.
- Work with vendors and testing labs on product sampling, documentation and validation.
- Manage renewals and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- BS in Engineering (Geotechnical or Civil preferred) and 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Possession of a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
- Proficiency in design software.
- Familiarity with commercial and residential construction codes.
- Extensive knowledge of soil mechanics, deep foundation design and residential/commercial construction.
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate complicated subject matter to internal stakeholders and customers in a meaningful way.
- A collaborative mindset and a knack for managing projects effectively.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally across the U.S. and Canada.
While this opportunity is primarily structured as a part-time direct hire position, Supportworks may also consider contract-based arrangements for highly qualified candidates with specialized expertise or consulting backgrounds.
Ideal Contract Candidates May Have- Extensive independent geotechnical engineering consulting experience
- Strong project autonomy and the ability to operate with minimal oversight
- Experience working in client-facing consulting or technical advisory roles
- The ability to quickly integrate into active projects and provide immediate technical value
- Availability for flexible, project-based, or part-time engagement structures.
- Ownership of a consulting practice or LLC
- Professional liability insurance
- Prior experience supporting multiple concurrent engineering clients or project
