Senior Electrical Designer

Wilson & Company’s Albuquerque, New Mexico office is currently seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Design Lead to support the electrical practice area team. The ideal candidate will have experience working for a wide variety of clients, including federal organizations (i.e. DOD, DOE, etc.). This position will have a primary focus on the daily operations of project design and inter‑office collaboration with staff and team members.

We are looking for someone with great communication skills who enjoys being part of a team, performing office and field work, and collaborating to develop solutions with other disciplines.

• Supports company’s strategic objectives, processes, and tools.
• Leads the electrical design and supports a variety of projects ranging from building lighting and power to rail yard power distribution to water treatment plant lighting, power and controls.
• Performs electrical calculations such as lighting calculations or voltage drop calculations.
• Actively leads and mentors electrical designers and CADD technicians on electrical design projects.
• Collaborates directly with an electrical engineer on project design.
• Performs and attends site observations, meetings, walkthroughs and inspections.
• Ensures compliance with Wilson & Company’s quality control and quality assurance standards.
• Works with other offices, disciplines, and clients.
• Monitors compliance with firm-wide safety policies.

The position will conform to Wilson & Company’s flexible work policy and is not anticipated to be a hybrid or remote work position.

• NFPA 70

• Microsoft Office software
• CADD software (i.e. Revit, AutoCAD, or Micro Station)

• Associate’s degree, or greater, in computer-aided drafting or design (equivalent design experience will be considered).
• Ten or more years of experience in the design of electrical projects.
• Manage or supervise multiple team members and coordinate effectively with other engineers and technicians.

Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 (Depending on Experience)
