Job DescriptionThis position is to support R&D with developing next generation medical equipment. The candidate must possess a broad base of product development knowledge around electrical engineering and strong writing and documentation skills. The candidate will be working from home due to Covid‑19 and will need to come into the BD facility as needed to perform various engineering tasks such as prototype builds, testing and direct development support.
In addition, some local travel to various outside compliance test facilities may be required.
- Knowledge of circuits and circuit theory
- Build, test, and troubleshoot electrical/electronic circuitry, prototype devices and systems
- Fabricate electronic and electromechanical test fixtures
- Document preparation: write up test procedures (protocols), test reports, product documentation, and theory‑of‑operation documents, etc.
- Utilize CAD tools to update schematics, PCB layouts and product documentation
- Work with and support test resources and outside compliance test labs during execution of test protocols by aiding with the setup of equipment and product to assure accurate capture of test result data
- Perform basic statistical analysis of test results and write up associated test reports
- Familiarity with IEC
60601-1 Standards for Safety, Essential Performance and EMC a plus
Looking for 5 years’ experience. Medical device experience is not required.
