Position SummaryThe Building Performance Analyst assists project design teams, including architects and engineers, during the design process by identifying impactful building performance strategies. The role uses energy modeling, building performance analysis, and data‑driven insights to quantify feasibility, advocate for high‑performing buildings, and provide sustainable design best‑practice feedback.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for energy modeling and analysis, day lighting analysis, writing energy life‑cycle cost reports, utility incentive documentation, code compliance, and LEED documentation.
- Evaluate impact and feasibility of energy‑conservation strategies through optimization of building form, envelope, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Apply building‑systems knowledge and critical thinking to troubleshoot technical design challenges.
- Research high‑performance building strategies such as daylight optimization, thermal comfort, and meter‑data analysis.
- Act as an integrated‑design resource, providing actionable data to project teams to set and achieve building performance goals.
- Develop sustainability and performance design narratives and deliverables at all stages of design.
- Lead integrated‑design charrettes, managing and providing sustainable design services during different phases.
- Advocate for building performance and sustainable design within the firm and across projects.
- Possess knowledge of advanced techniques in energy modeling.
- Perform life‑cycle analysis for energy‑conservation measures.
- Provide measurement & verification services for post‑occupancy evaluation.
- Support teams to meet Architecture 2030 targets and report to both in‑house and external stakeholders.
- Participate in office culture, promoting a sustainability mindset during meetings.
- Attend professional events (IBPSA, ASHRAE, AIA) and learning opportunities related to sustainability and performance design.
- 6+ years of experience performing energy modeling and building performance analysis.
- 1 year experience using Integrated Environmental Solutions Virtual Environment for energy modeling.
- Proficiency with energy modeling, daylight analysis, and building‑performance software.
- Proficiency in REVIT.
- Knowledge of sustainable building design principles.
- Ability to present building‑performance data, metrics, and research through comprehensive reports, verbally and graphically.
- Familiarity with prominent ASHRAE standards (ASHRAE 209, 90.1, 62.1, 55).
- Experience with parametric design tools such as Ladybug and Honeybee.
- ASHRAE, BEMP, and HBDP certification.
- LEED Accredited Professional.
- International WELL Building Institute WELL certification.

Pay Range$84,700 – $131,300 USD.
