Location: Location

In this role, you will be part of the Projects team, contributing to the engineering, configuration, and commissioning of safety automation systems for maritime and offshore applications. You will work on Kongsberg Maritime’s Integrated Control Systems, supporting safety-critical applications such as Fire & Gas (F&G), Emergency Shutdown (ESD), and Process Shutdown (PSD). The role requires hands‑on involvement in system design, software and hardware configuration, testing, and field commissioning.

You will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality project delivery, system reliability, and compliance with customer and industry standards.

What you will be doing
  • Participate in safety SW/HW engineering, SW/HW configuration/production, HMI, field commissioning & GCS service support of Integrated Control Systems & products (AIM, K‑Chief & K‑Safe)
  • Participate in design, SW/HW production of safety applications/systems (Fire & Gas, PSD, ESD) in accordance with customer requirements, documentation and procedures
  • Prepare system layout drawings, wiring termination drawings, KFDD (Kongsberg Functional Design Document), test procedures and I/O databases
  • Participate in project work to ensure correct quality, timely delivery with right solutions
  • Report progress of work on a regular basis to nearest supervisor and Project Manager
  • Participate in project meetings as allocated by nearest supervisor
  • Prepare and participate in IAT (Internal Acceptance Test), FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), CAT/SAT (Customer/Site Acceptance Test) & Sea Trials
  • Handle both local and overseas projects
  • Handle pre and post administrative work
  • Assist sales department with technical issues and enquiries
  • Undertake all aspects of project work and ad‑hoc tasks assigned from time to time
We think you should have
  • B. E /

    B. Tech in Instrumentation & Control / Electronics / Electrical
  • 3–5 years of experience in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) / Safety Automation Systems (F&G, ESD & PSD applications) and/or ICSS
  • Good field commissioning experience in F&G, ESD & PSD systems & overall ICSS automation
  • Technical knowledge within maritime, shipping and/or Offshore Oil & Gas sector (system design S/W & H/W applications)
  • Experience in safety automation of vessel types like LNGC, FSRU, FPSO, FLNG, Drilling, Production Units etc. & relevant control systems (DCS) is preferred
  • Experience in new build, upgrade/modifications, refits, retrofits projects within safety automation & control
  • Experience in order management/shipments with large ERP systems (preferably Dynamics AX, for Sales Orders, Shipment etc.)
  • Process control applications knowledge in general
  • Hands‑on experience in Profibus, Modbus RTU/TCP & serial lines etc.
