Vaco is currently seeking a Senior Cisco Secure Firewall Engineer for a 7M+ Contract (likely extensions) that is remote based. The Senior Cisco Secure Firewall Engineer will support a large-scale enterprise security environment, focusing on managing and securing the Cisco firewall infrastructure, specifically Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD), while ensuring day-to-day operational stability and security compliance. The Senior Cisco Secure Firewall Engineer will handle daily firewall operations, troubleshoot connectivity and security issues, review and implement firewall policy changes, and ensure requested access changes are secure and properly validated before deployment.

The Senior Cisco Secure Firewall Engineer will closely collaborate with external engineering and support teams to assist with enhancements, new feature implementations, and ongoing optimization of the firewall platform. The Senior Cisco Secure Firewall Engineer is hands‑on requiring deep expertise with Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD) and Security Cloud Control, along with strong experience in enterprise firewall administration, security policy management, incident troubleshooting, and operational support within complex environments.

• Cisco Secure Firewall Operations – Supporting enterprise firewall operations in large‑scale Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD) environments; ensuring stability, availability, and security compliance across production networks.
• Firewall Troubleshooting / Incident Resolution – Performing advanced troubleshooting and resolution of connectivity, access control, NAT, VPN, and security policy issues across complex enterprise infrastructures.
• Security Policy Administration – Reviewing, validating, implementing, and maintaining firewall and security policy changes; assessing risk, business impact, and compliance requirements.
• Cisco Security Cloud Control Administration – Managing Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD) infrastructure via Security Cloud Control for centralized policy management, monitoring, and operational support.
• Cross‑Functional Engineering Collaboration – Partnering with internal engineering teams and external support providers to deploy new firewall features, enhancements, and security capabilities.
• Firewall Optimization / Governance – Supporting ongoing optimization, maintenance, and governance of enterprise firewall environments through change management, policy reviews, and operational best practices.

• Enterprise Firewall / Security – 7+ years hands‑on experience supporting enterprise firewall and network security environments in large‑scale, mission‑critical organizations.
• Cisco FTD Expertise – Advanced configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD) platforms across complex enterprise environments.
• Security Cloud Control Administration – Administration of Cisco Secure Firewalls via Security Cloud Control (policy management, monitoring, device administration).
• Security Policy / Risk Management – Analysis, validation, and implementation of firewall and security policy changes; assessment of risk, business impact, and compliance requirements.
• Firewall Security – Deep knowledge of access control policies, NAT, VPN, IPS, URL filtering, and AVC.
• Advanced Firewall Troubleshooting – Resolution of complex connectivity, routing, NAT, IPS, policy enforcement, and firewall performance issues.
• Platform Enhancements / Feature Deployment – Implementation of firewall enhancements, new security features, and platform improvements within existing architectures.
• Enterprise Networking / Security Architecture – Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, network segmentation, and enterprise security architecture.
• Change Management / Governance – Support for change management processes, including security change review, documentation, approval, production implementation, monitoring, and operational tooling.
• Regulated Environment Support – Support of security operations within highly regulated, compliance‑driven enterprise environments.
• Communication / Documentation Skills – Strong technical documentation and clear technical recommendations to stakeholders.
