Land Development / Site Civil Designer - Sevierville, TN
Remote Status: On-Site
Robert G. Campbell and Associates (RGC&A), a partner firm of Infrastructure, Consulting, & Engineering, is seeking an individual with high technical and interpersonal skills to be a key performer on our site design team. The role involves working on residential, commercial, and industrial sites, offering professional and personal growth opportunities.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with technical staff in producing designs for residential, commercial and industrial sites
- Maintain Department CAD standards and file system
- Work with site, survey, and inspection staff to provide turn‑key projects for clients
- Work with and obtain approval from various regulatory agencies
- Perform construction administration duties such as attending meetings, site visits, preparing responses to RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings under the supervision of the Engineer
- Actively assist in quality control throughout the project
- Recruit new staff to grow the site development team
- Broad experience in site design, including grading, drainage, detention, and erosion control
- Experience with and understanding of topographic surveys
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of stormwater design, including pipe sizing, detention, and other stormwater facilities – use of HydroCAD or similar for analysis
- Communication with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
- Computer design experience with CAD (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson) is required
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Completion of pre‑employment screening; RGC&A is a drug‑free workplace
- BS in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline from an ABET accredited university or related technical certificate
- Minimum of 2 years of experience or combination of advanced degree and work experience
- Knowledge of Civil Engineering design requirements and principles
- Proficiency with HydroCAD (or similar storm water modeling software) and CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, and/or Micro Station
This position involves up to 8 hours per day in an office, travel and client meetings, and occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors with controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Visual acuity, color discrimination, sound, tone, and pitch recognition are required. Clear verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
The role requires adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow and the ability to sit for extended periods.
The RGC&A offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to project schedule and deliverables. This is primarily an onsite position reporting to a RGC&A office five days per week. Work from home is an option depending on a variety of factors.
