About the Role
We are searching for a Project Engineer‑Solar on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W‑2). You will be supporting utility‑scale solar farm design and construction and will be responsible for managing 3rd‑party contractor teams to develop engineering designs for solar projects. You will coordinate project stakeholders and mobilize teams of engineers to achieve business objectives, applying value engineering to balance reliability, cost, and performance for complex systems.
You should have thorough knowledge of electrical, structural, civil, and materials engineering disciplines. A preferred candidate will have experience successfully managing schedules and budgets for major capital projects.
Preferred location:
In‑office Juno Beach, FL or Remote. Remote work may be considered based on experience level. Ideally candidates live or are near Juno Beach, Florida. Even if remote, candidates are expected to travel to the office in Juno Beach periodically, with more frequent visits in the first 3‑6 months.
Travel required:
25%.
- Project engineering responsibilities span from initial concept definition to construction and final commissioning, requiring coordination with diverse project team members such as environmental, procurement, transmission services, and project managers. This coordination is necessary for both early stage and construction.
- 5 years of relevant experience; fewer years may be considered if the experience makes a good match.
- Preferable engineering and project management experience on utility‑scale solar projects.
- Experience in DG/commercial solar and other power industry technologies (wind, BESS, combined cycle, nuclear, hydrogen, substation, transmission) is also acceptable.
- Experience outside the power industry (aerospace, civil/stormwater, etc.) is considered.
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $45.00/hr to $50.00/hr.
