We are looking for an Electrical Engineer II - III in our San Francisco, CA or Sacramento, CA offices
.
As an Electrical Engineer II-III you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.
- Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work; assist senior engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and work closely with the entire design team.
- Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer; perform equipment selections, load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes.
- Represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.).
- Master drawing organization format and company standards.
- Assist senior engineer and/or senior designer in determining project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.
- Assist the senior engineer / senior designer in processing RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda.
- Begin to establish system application, design, and operational parameters/sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
- Develop specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.
- Participate in / ensure / oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.
- Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and detailed inspection reports.
Successful candidates for the Electrical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark‑ups through the production of detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Someone with knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.) would be a good fit for this dynamic role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Institution.
- Minimum of 2 to 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.
- Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required.
- Basic understanding of proper system selection.
- Basic knowledge of applicable codes.
- EIT certification required.
- Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and interest in Project Management greatly preferred.

The salary range listed below is for this particular job posting. Actual pay range for candidates will be commensurate with candidate’s experience, skillsets and competencies and may differ based on the cost of labor in their particular location.
