Mechanical Specialist / Sr. Mechanical Specialist – Haughton, LA

Must live within 30 miles of the Haughton, LA Compressor station.

This position maintains Boardwalk’s reciprocating engines at the Haughton station and Sharon by providing engine repair, troubleshooting, mechanical improvement, and assisting in other areas when needed. The specialist works closely with station personnel and the area admin to improve reliability and efficiency of the compressor station. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs and move equipment up to 50 ft into the engine room, working in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.

Successful candidates will be expected to be on call and respond to phone calls when needed.

• Ability to read and comprehend manufacturer’s equipment manuals
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel) and familiarity with CMMS system for maintenance documentation
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Mechanical experience working on compressor station engines and compressors
• Knowledge of 2- and 4-stroke, slow- and high-speed engines and compressors
• Knowledge of gas turbines
• Good troubleshooting skills

• 5+ years of mechanical experience with natural gas engines and compressors
• 5+ years experience with solar gas turbines

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Technical degree in mechanical or electrical area
