Senior DeltaV Automation Engineer position located in one of our seven office locations:
Maumee, OH;
Cincinnati, OH;
Indianapolis, IN;
Peachtree City, GA;
Overland Park, KS;
Edina, MN; or Westminster, CO. The role is salaried and eligible for overtime pay.
- Serve as the technical authority and delivery lead for Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) solutions in regulated manufacturing environments, with a primary focus on pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
- Establish, execute, and scale DeltaV automation capabilities while delivering high-quality, low-risk solutions across the full system lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership, client engagement, and internal capability development; position DeltaV as a trusted automation platform by executing targeted projects, developing internal standards, mentoring engineers, and ensuring compliant, sustainable system designs.
- Develop or improve processes, procedures, and templates for DeltaV and coordinate rollout and training with Department Managers.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of DeltaV trends and tools by attending trade shows, training, and networking events as needed.
- Act as a DeltaV consultant and provide training and technical direction to address skill gaps.
- Ensure staff have the tools, hardware, software, and training to adhere to latest design processes and procedures.
- Review technical approaches for accuracy and sound engineering practices related to project requirements.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance programs for DeltaV; ensure designs are reviewed and tested; monitor staff development and work quality.
- Coordinate and assist in sales efforts for DeltaV opportunities as the primary technical contact for DeltaV-related client engagements; develop proposals and estimates with sales and project management.
- Collaborate with Department Managers on hiring plans and assist in the hiring process to evaluate technical acumen.
- Work safely and adhere to Matrix and client safety standards.
- Four-year degree in Engineering preferred; other degrees with equivalent experience may be accepted.
- Ability to architect and design a new DeltaV system.
- Minimum of 8 years DeltaV experience with subject matter expertise.
- Strong working knowledge of batch processing and ISA 88 methodologies;
DeltaV Control Studio, Operate, Live, and System Architecture; industrial communication protocols (Ether Net/IP, OPC, Profibus, Modbus); GMP documentation practices, validation lifecycle, and regulatory compliance. - Self-starter with analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 15-25% locally and overnight.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and able to access client sites.
- May stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to handle objects; reach with hands and arms; speak and hear.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include near, far, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- May perform industrial field work with exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs; potential exposure to food allergens.
