Introduction
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of Transportation System Development, Southeast Region is seeking a Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced. This position will be headquartered at 141 NW Barstow Street in Waukesha, WI.
Hybrid work schedule:
At least 2 days per week are required to be at the Waukesha State Office Building. Remote work (telework) is expected from within the State of Wisconsin for employees on a hybrid schedule.
This role functions as a Civil Engineer within the Project Development Section. The engineer uses independent discretion and judgment on transportation improvement projects in both construction and design phases, managing activities on multiple projects, including highly complex ones. Roles include project management responsibilities for scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project quality, and occasionally serving as a construction leader for major projects.
Fieldwork may require independent travel throughout the Southeast Region, occasional statewide travel, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Salary InformationPosition schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $92,768–$112,237, plus benefits. A twelve‑month probationary period applies. Current state employees receive pay consistent with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
