Position

Summary

McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Site Civil Designer I to join our Energy/Utilities group. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in a remote office environment. This position is Hybrid, and the candidate will be expected to report to McCormick Taylor’s office on a weekly basis.

Experience in Site Design, Water Resources, Erosion & Sediment Control, etc., is preferred. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Working closely with a Project Manager, Project Engineer, and a multi-discipline design team on a daily basis.
  • Supporting the design and production of civil site construction documents related to Energy/Utility Clients.
Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED is required, Associates or Bachelor's degree in science or engineering preferred.
  • No prior experience required; however, candidates with 3 years of experience are preferred. Experience developing design documents (plans, permit applications, mapping) using CADD is preferred. Ideal candidate has experience developing documents for Energy/Utility Projects.
  • Basic understanding of site design, including grading and utilities.
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about their respective discipline.
  • Functional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
