About the role
Be part of this 'once in a generation' project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: "Balfour Beatty", Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke.
We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.
What you'll be doingThe scope of the Enabling Works and Earthwork is the design, planning, procurement and execution of some of the early SZC civils scope including Earthworks trials phase monitoring for soil behaviour and onsite testing, assessing a variety of earthworks back filling operations, placing and compaction methods. Maintaining site records and daily diary.
Who we're looking forKnowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
- Ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems
- Knowledge of Project Management methodology
- Full UK Driving Licence
- 42 hours per week
Desirable
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
- People Management experience and relationship management skills
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and Financial control
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- HNC/HND/Degree in relevant discipline and/or relevant Site Experience with in the Construction Industry
- CSCS card
