- Deliver Capital Improvement Projects with a primary focus on the Transportation System, but may also work on Parks, Stormwater, Sanitary Sewer, Water, and Facility CIP projects.
- Convey technical transportation and traffic engineering subject matter effectively to non-technical audiences, such as community members, City Council, committees, and non-engineering staff.
- Provide guidance to Project Coordinator responding to customer requests and traffic concerns related to traffic operations, safety, crosswalks, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, visibility, parking, speeding, and street lighting.
- Work closely with Street Maintenance Division for ongoing programs, traffic operations and safety issues, as well as maintenance needs.
- Perform traffic studies and complete plan review for private development permitting for transportation topics.
- Assist with transportation programs, such as safe streets and neighborhood traffic calming.
- Collaborate with the Community Development team on transportation planning projects.
- Serve as a partner to other agencies such as ODOT/Washington County.

Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related engineering field;
AND - Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in project management and professional engineering and infrastructure planning, design, plan review, permitting, and project administration experience.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving history.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of appointment, a Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer license to practice in the State of Oregon.
This position is not represented by a union.
Schedule40 hours per week. Tigard is a progressive employer with a 4-day work (Monday-Thursday) week. Work schedule includes a combination of office and off-site meetings (some evenings). There is an opportunity for remote work up to 1 day per week.
