Position OverviewAtaero is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support WOLF and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) communications programs. The selected candidate will support the development, integration, testing, documentation, and sustainment of advanced communications systems and "systems of systems" that enable mission success for Special Operations Forces worldwide.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, operators, program managers, and technical teams to support system requirements development, systems integration, test planning, verification activities, and operational fielding of communications capabilities in support of global SOF operations.
The ideal candidate possesses strong systems engineering experience, military communications knowledge, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges in dynamic mission environments.
Responsibilities- Develop, integrate, and support communications "systems of systems" supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF) missions.
- Assist with systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture development, integration, verification, validation, testing, and sustainment.
- Translate operational requirements into technical solutions that meet mission, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Support the development of system requirements, interface definitions, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Assist with integration of SOF communications systems into operational architectures.
- Conduct research, engineering analysis, and trade studies to evaluate technologies, products, and services supporting mission requirements.
- Develop recommendations for communications capabilities, equipment, and services supporting austere and expeditionary environments.
- Participate in systems integration, laboratory testing, field testing, and formal acceptance testing activities.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, network, and communications system issues.
- Work closely with test teams, software developers, network engineers, and operational stakeholders to ensure successful system implementation.
- Support design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and customer briefings.
- Generate engineering artifacts, technical reports, test documentation, and system support materials.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting systems engineering, communications systems, network integration, or military technology programs.
- Experience performing requirements analysis, functional analysis, systems integration, and engineering evaluations.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes, and lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
- Experience supporting USSOCOM, Special Operations Forces, Department of Defense, or military communications programs.
- Familiarity with SOF communications architectures and mission systems.
- Experience developing systems engineering documentation and artifacts supporting design reviews.
- Knowledge of systems architecture development, interface management, and reverse engineering methodologies.
