Job Overview
Senior Remote Maintenance Support Technician (Govt Programs) – skilled in advanced troubleshooting, inspections, and return‑to‑service certifications on BK117 C2/D3 and EC135 aircraft. Perform work independently at customer sites across the United States.
Compensation & SchedulePay: $34.00 – $57.00 per hour (based on experience) plus per diem and housing allowance when away from home.
Schedule:
4×10 shifts (5×8 in California), 4 weeks onsite / 2 weeks off (work from home).
- FAA A&P License
- 8–12 years of rotary‑wing experience
- Ability to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC)
- Maintenance/Troubleshooting/Inspections (60%) – Perform maintenance and inspections using airframe and power plant (A&P) license outside of certified repair station; advanced troubleshooting to diagnose system malfunctions; conduct airframe calendar/hourly, hidden damage, operational, and functional checks; participate in flight tests; track rotor systems and vibration analysis; ensure FOD, tool control, and calibrated tool policies; complete “Clearance‑to‑close,” torque checks, dimensional checks, and flight control system installation verification;
perform thorough receiving inspection of aircraft and associated records. - Lead Technician Responsibilities (20%) – Conduct daily “huddle” meetings; assign maintenance tasks; identify and elevate work performance issues or safety concerns.
- On‑Site Customer Support (10%) – Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues identified by Airbus customers; perform on‑site customer support tasks contracted by the customer.
- Documentation/Compliance (10%) – Update maintenance tracking program daily; monitor and forecast upcoming maintenance; ensure compliance with production/repair station policies, FAA regulations, calendar/hourly inspections, life‑limited or cycle‑limited components, airworthiness directives, and service bulletins; document and return aircraft components to service; review 337s; track and coordinate forecasted removals, repairs, and material requirements for TBO and SLL assets; compose and prepare maintenance documentation; perform aircraft mass and balance record calculations per AC 43.13‑1B.
- Minimum eight (8) years of aviation maintenance experience on the BK117 C2/D3 or EC135, or 12 years of rotary wing experience with at least 6 months on BK117 C2/D3 or EC135.
- Current FAA A&P license.
- Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience and/or equivalent education.
- Understanding of FAA regulations 14 CFR Parts 27, 29, 39, 43, 91, 135, and 145.
- High‑level troubleshooting expertise on all BK117 C2 aircraft systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to obtain a DoD CAC.
- U.S. Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or other covered under ITAR).
