Job Description

Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Louisville, KY (Fully Remote - Must be willing to travel ~1x/Month to On-Site Facility)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer who has significant experience in the design of electrical systems for new buildings and renovations within the Healthcare market (primarily hospitals and medical office buildings, along with other healthcare project types and support buildings). Candidates must possess some sort of basic project management experience and be willing to lead projects from all perspectives, including technical, administrative and financial.

The Mechanical Engineer will lead design project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of healthcare projects including private sector, government and military facilities. This individual will also lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and other mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry, calculus and physics.
  • Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software.
  • Creative thinking and innovation.
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Identify deficiencies in mechanical processes and developing improvements.
  • Design and develop prototypes.
  • Analyze and test prototypes and each revision of a device.
  • Supervise the development of computer-aided design (CAD) project drawings from junior team members.
  • Develop, initiate and manage all phases of projects.
  • Prepare documentation of critical analysis and provide suggestions for correcting errors.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources.
  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of target user and market.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Education &

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be licensed Mechanical Engineer in the USA, preferably in the state of Kentucky.
  • Minimum 4-8 Years experience in a Mechanical Engineering role or similar.
  • Basic Understanding / Knowledge of IMC, IPC, & NFPA Code as well as IBC.
  • Knowledge of VA work preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or REVIT ability.
  • Proven specs ability - VA Specs is a bonus!
  • Proven Drawing Ability.
  • Proven Design Ability.
  • Ability to oversee / manage other personnel.
  • Ability to manage others who are design-focused & not licensed engineers.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and submit proper work documentation/designs.
  • Ability to take over / lead current assignment/projects when needed.
  • Willingness to travel (~1x/Month, sometimes less).
