This role partners closely with environmental scientists, engineers, and project teams to deliver accurate environmental assessment data and insights to clients and stakeholders.

  • Support NEPA and other environmental review processes by preparing exhibits, constraints mapping, and impact assessments.
  • Conduct field data collection using GPS/GNSS tools and mobile GIS applications to validate and enhance spatial datasets.
  • Maintain, update, and manage geospatial databases ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, and engineers to identify project constraints and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain standardized GIS workflows, templates, and metadata documentation to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) on spatial data, maps, and deliverables prior to client submission.
  • Support utility, right-of-way, and environmental constraints mapping for transportation corridor studies and design projects.
  • Create web maps, dashboards, and interactive tools to communicate spatial data and project insights to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with proposal development by preparing maps, graphics, and technical content to support business development efforts.
What You’ll Need:
  • Experience working with environmental, transportation, or infrastructure-related geospatial datasets.
  • Working knowledge of spatial analysis techniques, data management, and geoprocessing tools.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and frameworks (e.g., NEPA, wetlands, endangered species) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in GIS data visualization, cartography principles, and map production standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform QA/QC on data and deliverables.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary project teams.
