SILTT is seeking a broadly skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to support advanced data center and telecommunications infrastructure programs. In this role, you will serve as a technical force multiplier to both SILTT and our customers reviewing design documents, supporting constructability, and helping drive coordinated project delivery. Rather than authoring original designs, your focus will be on evaluating and validating third‑party engineering packages for quality, compliance, and suitability to site‑specific conditions.
This role demands a clear thinker, a detail‑oriented reviewer, and a collaborator able to bridge engineering with real‑world implementation.
In this role, you will apply civil and structural engineering expertise to support the planning, design, and delivery of technically complex infrastructure, primarily data centers and telecommunications facilities. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support early‑stage efforts including site grading analysis, drainage planning, and geotechnical due diligence reviews.
- Review foundation strategies, slab designs, and site‑adapted structural systems to ensure alignment with local conditions and constructability.
- Evaluate PEMB portal frame shop drawings and other structural submittals for conformance with design intent and project specifications.
- Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and low‑voltage design disciplines to ensure integration of structural and civil systems across project phases.
- Interpret local civil and structural codes, permitting requirements, and regulatory constraints to confirm compliance.
- Participate in technical reviews of site layouts, utility planning, and access routes to support operational and long‑term expansion goals.
- Assist in the development and review of construction documents, RFIs, and field change proposals during execution.
- Attend coordination meetings with consultants, general contractors, and client representatives to resolve design issues and align on technical solutions.
- Contribute to the refinement of technical specifications, design standards, and quality benchmarks for civil and structural scopes.
- Identify and document lessons learned from each project to support continuous improvement of civil/structural review processes, coordination workflows, and technical standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in civil or structural engineering, preferably supporting industrial, mission‑critical, or utility‑scale infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of site‑adapt structural systems, foundation and drainage design, and local permitting considerations.
- Proven ability to coordinate civil/structural work with architectural, MEP, and low‑voltage disciplines.
- Experience interpreting and applying structural and civil codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proficiency with engineering review and documentation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, Revit, ACC).
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, SAP
2000, or STAAD.Pro). - Demonstrated ability to review design submittals, RFIs, shop drawings (e.g., PEMB), and field changes for technical compliance and constructability.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work effectively with internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
- Availability to travel to domestic and international project sites as needed.
Partially remote. This role is primarily office‑based but may be performed remotely as project needs allow. Occasional travel is expected to support field verifications, site‑adapt design reviews, customer coordination, and construction‑phase activities. Additional travel may be required to attend project kickoffs, stakeholder meetings, or vendor coordination sessions.
Flexible work from home options available.
