We are looking for a professional to join our Water Business Unit as an Electrical Engineering Designer in either the Raleigh, Charlotte, or Wilmington office.

Job SummaryThe Electrical Engineering Designer will provide electrical design services as part of a multi‑discipline project team for water and wastewater projects such as treatment plants and pump stations. The role coordinates with the project manager and team to complete tasks within budget and schedule.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities- Provide technical and design services for medium and low voltage power distribution, including motor control centers and switchgears.
- Prepare plans and specifications: one‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams, power plans, grounding, lighting, lightning protection, and fire alarm systems.
- Create cost estimates and basis of design reports under a Senior Engineer (PE).
- Perform basic electrical calculations: voltage drop, lighting, equipment sizing, generators, panel boards, feedings.
- Use electrical modeling for coordination studies, arc flash, load flow analysis with SKM Power Tools and ETAP.
- Generate construction drawings with REVIT and AutoCAD.
- Observe construction progress and prepare technical reports and correspondence.
- Ensure design tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Project Manager, Senior Electrical Engineer, and design team.
- Report directly to the Senior Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- 4–6 years of documented experience on facilities similar to water/wastewater treatment and pump stations.
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Attention to precision and accuracy.
- 2+ years of Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 780 (or equivalent years of experience).
- High technical aptitude with a commitment to staying current in the field.
- Ability to climb ladders and perform field survey duties.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable vehicle and clean record.
- Experience with both Revit and AutoCAD.
- Passed the FE/EIT exam or pursuing licensure as a Professional Engineer.
