Position: Environmental Engineer (Manufacturing industry)

Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Engineer in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental or chemical engineering and has five or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically with air pollution control and air permit compliance. The position is within a subsidiary of a global manufacturing business that serves the construction and mining markets.

Responsibilities
  • Support regulatory reporting in areas such as Title V compliance, emissions inventory, NESHAPs, SPCC, Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory, waste summaries, wastewater periodic compliance reports, DMRs, P2, and related documentation and correspondence.
  • Lead the ISO 14001 environmental management system through auditing, root cause analysis, procedure development and coordination with other departments.
  • Perform area and equipment inspections at Dallas and Mansfield Texas facilities and report information about process and environmental equipment; visit Mansfield at least monthly.
  • Gather and report to corporate headquarters and client management environmental parameters such as CO2 generation, waste generation and water use.
  • Respond to requests for information relevant to environmental issues from work groups inside and outside the company.
  • Evaluate ways to improve environmental metrics, develop recommendations for environmental processes, programs and equipment to enhance the compliance program and EMS, and support carbon reduction planning and implementation.
  • Evaluate changes to production processes, pollution control equipment, regulations, and raw materials to determine permitting, reporting and metrics implications; report implications and countermeasures to management.
  • Develop and deliver relevant training to employees on environmental topics and provide work direction to foundry employees concerning environmental requirements.
  • Respond to emergency situations that could occur inside or outside of standard working hours.
  • Enter data into regulatory databases such as CDX and STEERS.
  • Monitor environmental pollution control equipment and propose improvements; review documents from production and maintenance to verify compliance and provide countermeasures if needed.
  • Develop and implement a sustainability program that includes employee engagement, compliance, community, and environmental initiatives beyond regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in environmental or chemical engineering with five or more years of related experience, or a master’s degree with three or more years of experience, or a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science with seven or more years of experience.
  • Experience with air pollution control and air permit compliance.
  • Computer skills for reporting, SAP, database management, internet/intranet use, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations and identify compliance requirements from permits and regulations.
  • High verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with upper management, employees, contractors, and regulators.
  • Professional certification such as EIT, REM, REP, P.E., CHMM, or QEP preferred.
  • Self‑driven and able to work effectively with minimal direction and guidance.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stationary ladders, and perform other duties required in a foundry environment.
  • On‑site role; remote work not available.
Location & Relocation

The position is on‑site in Dallas, TX. The client will provide full relocation assistance.

Salary & Benefits

Annual salary range: $110,000 to $125,000 (USD). Benefits include a company‑matching 401(k) plan, ten paid holidays, paid leave, and growth opportunities.
