Job OverviewCIMA+’s Infrastructure team combines top-notch skills with an intimate understanding of local communities to deliver customized infrastructure services for municipalities and real‑estate developers across Canada. The Infrastructure team has built hundreds of projects covering water and wastewater solutions on time and within budget. We support clients from start to finish, from new construction to assessment, repair, and expansion of existing infrastructure.
PositionWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Conveyance Engineer to work closely with the project manager and design lead on a variety of sewer, forcemain, watermain, and related system projects. The Engineer will contribute actively to design, propose solutions, work independently, and delegate tasks to junior staff.
Hybrid work model: flexible hours and 2 days per week in a Mississauga or Bowmanville office.
Primary Responsibilities- Contribute to the analysis, design, and reporting of water and wastewater conveyance systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, design calculations, sketches, presentation materials, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.
- Assist the project manager and design lead in project delivery from initiation to completion, supporting design coordination, preliminary and detailed plans, tender documents, and construction engineering support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structural, electrical, environmental consultants) to develop integrated solutions for conveyance systems.
- Support inspectors and contract administrators during construction, reviewing contractor submittals for design adherence.
- Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and project documentation; maintain accurate project progress and change records.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- 7+ years of experience in design, construction, and maintenance of water and wastewater conveyance systems.
- Qualified Engineer (P.Eng.) designation from Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to water and wastewater conveyance systems.
- Familiarity with preliminary and detailed design of sewers, water mains, force mains, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively and independently with minimal supervision within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
