Location: Dallas, Texas, United States (Hybrid – Office-based with remote work and travel)

A forward-thinking renewable energy organisation focused on advanced geothermal technologies is seeking a Geothermal Power Plant Facility Engineer to support the design, construction, and operation of next-generation power plants.
This is a senior, multidisciplinary engineering role combining plant design, project execution, and operational optimisation
, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and sustainability.
You will play a key role within an integrated asset management team, leading engineering efforts across the full lifecycle of geothermal facilities-from concept and design through commissioning and long-term operations.
The position requires a strong grounding in thermodynamics, fluid systems, and industrial plant engineering
, alongside the ability to manage complex interfaces between engineering disciplines, vendors, and operational teams.
1. Design & Project Delivery Phase
- Lead the engineering and design of geothermal surface facilities
, ensuring optimal energy generation and system efficiency - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, environmental, drilling, and reservoir specialists) to develop integrated plant solutions
- Design and specify key systems, including:
- Turbine systems (e.g. steam and Organic Rankine Cycle)
- Wellfield piping and injection infrastructure
- Steam/brine transport and separation systems
- Pumping and heat exchange systems
- Produce engineering calculations and equipment specifications (thermal loads, pressure drops, efficiency modelling)
- Support design reviews and constructability assessments to ensure safe and efficient implementation
- Assist in vendor selection and technical evaluations
, including RFQ processes - Contribute to cost estimation, material take-offs, and project scheduling
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in power generation, facility engineering, or industrial process systems
- Experience in geothermal power plants preferred
; alternatively:- Combined-cycle or steam plants
- Oil & gas processing
- Industrial fluid/thermal systems
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
- Experience with binary (ORC) or flash steam systems
- Familiarity with plant monitoring and maintenance systems (e.g. SCADA, PI, CMMS platforms)
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g. ASME, API, ANSI)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain is advantageous
- Mechanical and process system design
- Fluid system modelling and analysis
- Performance monitoring and data analysis
- Engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD, Aspen, or equivalent)
- Maintenance and reliability engineering techniques (e.g. vibration analysis, thermography)
- Regulatory and environmental compliance
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Analytical mindset with structured problem-solving ability
- Leadership capability without direct authority
- Adaptability in a fast-evolving, innovation-driven environment
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Hybrid working model (Dallas office + remote + site travel)
- Work in industrial and remote environments may be required
