Frontier‑Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our home office in Evansville, Indiana.
Responsibilities- Assist with organizing and managing the bid process in conjunction with the Estimating Manager.
- Review and analyze bid documents to develop project labor, materials, and equipment requirements and costs.
- Travel to attend pre‑bid meetings and site visits while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, and consultants.
- Consult with suppliers and subcontractors during the bidding process to determine costs.
- Assist with the technical proposals and presentations.
- Assist with the preparation of post‑bid work plans, procurement, scheduling, and cost control.
- Actively participate in production tracking and post‑job analysis.
- Assist with maintaining a database of historical estimates and project information records.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil, mining, construction, or a related area with good working knowledge of general engineering applications and construction practices.
- Previous experience with field engineering, estimating, project scheduling, and technical writing.
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products, civil estimating software (preferably HCSS), and scheduling software (preferably Primavera P6).
- Effective written and verbal communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks and manage those tasks concurrently within firm timelines.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents including contracts, specifications, and drawings.
- Attention to detail with an emphasis on time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to function effectively within a team atmosphere.
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight as needed on an infrequent basis.
- Ability and willingness to visit sites (mines and tunnels) within an underground environment.
