Research Scientist
Duties
- Take part in the technology development cycle, from understanding business requirements to data discovery, extraction, model development, prototyping, evaluation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with business partners to understand product requirements and define appropriate technical solutions.
- Lead technical development of cutting‑edge analytics and decision‑support tools.
- Actively participate in technical development and coordinate the execution of projects involving multidisciplinary teams.
- Stay abreast of new technology developments in order to contribute to new programs.
- Effectively communicate findings and analysis to stakeholders, supporting new programs while maintaining and improving existing ones.
- Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Coursework or graduate research must include experience implementing machine learning technology to model future trends using available data.
- Experience with production and distribution planning and scheduling to improve analytical solutions for industrial gas use cases.
- Experience with supply chain optimization tools such as GAMS, Supply Chain Guru, or equivalent software to develop and improve solutions for industrial gas use cases.
- Ability to utilize linear programming, mixed‑integer programming, and nonlinear programming techniques to translate business problems into equations and tune models for the industrial gas sector.
- Knowledge of transport phenomena and other industrial concepts to understand air‑separation process details.
- Working with programming tools including Python or C# to build tools for industry modelling and calculations.
- Conduct research on modeling complex optimization problems in a chemical/industrial setting.
- Develop reformulation and decomposition techniques that consider specific or particular model topology.
- Remote work permissible within a commutable distance from the worksite.
- Travel requirement: 30% of domestic and international travel.
- Hours:
Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 40 hours per week.
