Nuclear Plant Site Project Manager – Outages

About the role

WECTEC Staffing/Westinghouse seeks a Site Project Manager for Westinghouse work at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant located in Avila Beach, CA. This contract position reports to the Manager of I&C Installation Services and onsite management and involves leading project management processes during online work and outages, overseeing large teams.

• Project planning: author project plans and develop scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
• Manage field teams to plan Work Orders.
• Work with the customer to develop outage and online schedule.
• Conduct project execution, monitoring and controls.
• Assume overall responsibility for profitability of contracts.
• Follow department protocols for acquiring team members to complete the work.
• Manage all aspects of the project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and partners through use of delegates/support as applicable.
• Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements and subsequent changes to teams following an integrated change‑management process.
• Review project expenditures for compliance with baselines and scope.
• Promote teamwork, issuing and maintaining project process metrics and process maps to keep customers and partners informed of project status.
• Develop or oversee project databases and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence.

• High school graduate or equivalent; preferred post‑high‑school degree (Bachelor’s or Associate’s) or equivalent certificate.
• Prior experience in planning and managing I&C projects.
• Prior experience in the nuclear industry.
• Ability to travel and maintain “Unescorted Access” status.

Hourly rate estimated at $80.00–$95.00 per hour, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
