Description
Martin/Martin is seeking an Architect or Engineer to join our rapidly growing Building Enclosure team in our Denver, Colorado office, part of the Investigative Engineering Group. Our team specializes in developing and managing engineering services for the renovation, restoration, retrofit, and repair of existing structures. We support a broad range of projects including structural repairs, façade and access systems, building envelope assessments, non-destructive testing, and expert witness work.
This role combines in-office design work with on-site evaluations. Candidates should bring strong knowledge of waterproofing and enclosure systems, and the ability to draw informed conclusions from field investigations. Core responsibilities include developing building enclosure designs and forensic evaluation of existing enclosure systems, production of drawings, specifications and development of reports.
A typical week may involve field investigations, non-destructive testing, hygrothermal analysis, development of reports and repair documents, and construction administration services. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will collaborate closely with property/facility managers, building owners, and contractors, building strong professional relationships and contributing to project success.

The Team
Our investigative engineers are pivotal in supporting ongoing projects by planning and implementing repairs, renovations, and improvements for buildings and sites. Projects have included the historic Brown Palace hotel
, nationwide work with the United States Postal Service
, the University of Denver
, and other parking garage repair/restorations
.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and performs investigations and designs with in-house staff and clients
- Communicates schedule and technical information to clients, other consultants, and contractors
- Manages own work and that of others working on their projects
- Develops and follows safety plans for specific project conditions
- Follows project specific QA/QC plans
- Assembles construction drawings
- Writes and edits specifications
- Writes technical reports
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an ABET accredited curriculum
- Demonstrated creativity and technical ability consistent with essential duties
- Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work in the Denver area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
Desired
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working as an architect or engineer, with ability to become licensed within 2 years.
- Developed skills to investigate, analyze, design, coordinate, model, and document projects.
- Knowledge of hygrothermal modeling techniques.
- Strong understanding of architectural and waterproofing systems for common building types.
- Can plan daily work and is able to communicate with others in order to effectively accomplish projects.
- Ability to travel for site visits, primarily local to the Denver area and occasionally out-of-state.
- Able to produce projects on or under the established project budget.
