I'm partnered with a data center owner delivering a major hyperscale build in Colorado, and they're looking to bring on a Cx Electrical Lead to own electrical commissioning across a large-scale critical infrastructure project.
This is a high-impact, site-based role working directly with the owner, GC, commissioning teams, vendors, and trade partners to drive electrical commissioning delivery across a 300MW data center facility currently in Phase 2.
- Location:
Colorado — around 1 hour from Denver - Contract Type:
Full-Time Permanent - Salary:
Ideally around $180,000, with flexibility up to $200,000 depending on experience - Bonus: 20%
- Per Diem:
Up to $10,000 per month - Travel Support: 2 return flights home per month
- Schedule:
Onsite daily, typically 9 days onsite, Friday remote/home, then back onsite Monday - Sector:
Data Centers - Work Authorization: US Citizen or Green Card holder only
- Leading electrical commissioning activities across a large-scale hyperscale data center project
- Owning electrical Cx delivery across Level 3–5 commissioning, startup, functional testing, issue resolution, and turnover
- Overseeing commissioning of UPS systems, generators, switch gear, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, ATS/STS, busway, switchboards, panels, EPMS, BMS interfaces, and associated electrical infrastructure
- Coordinating closely with the GC, electrical contractors, Cx agents, vendors, and owner-side project teams
- Reviewing commissioning plans, method statements, test scripts, functional performance tests, integrated systems testing plans, and turnover documentation
- Supporting pre-functional checks, equipment energization, startup, sequence validation, electrical functional testing, IST, and final handover
- Identifying electrical commissioning risks early and driving corrective actions with site teams
- Ensuring electrical systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and handed over in line with project schedule, safety standards, and owner expectations
- Strong electrical commissioning experience across data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale electrical infrastructure projects
- Experience leading electrical commissioning on UPS, generators, switch gear, transformers, PDUs, ATS/STS, EPMS, power distribution, and critical backup power systems
- Data center commissioning experience strongly preferred, especially hyperscale or large colocation environments
- Comfortable working closely with GCs, MEP trades, vendors, Cx agents, and owner-side stakeholders
- Strong understanding of electrical startup, energization, functional testing, sequence of operations, integrated systems testing, and turnover
- Able to operate as the electrical commissioning lead on site, taking ownership of delivery, coordination, issue resolution, and documentation
- Comfortable being onsite near Denver, Colorado, with flights home every two weeks
