Field Service Engineer; Remote

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer for our Greenville, SC facility. In this role you will spend 80% of your time traveling to customer locations providing technical services and support to customers, systems engineering, and all internal support departments. Your primary duties include installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining Oerlikon Metco Thermal Spray equipment and components.

• Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform safety inspections and training on all Oerlikon Metco thermal spray equipment and components.
• Integrate, test, and train customers on specialized systems including robotic programming, interfacing, and vacuum systems.
• Test, analyze, and adjust precision electromechanical instruments and electrical/mechanical components used with the thermal spray equipment.
• Calibrate and adjust components in accordance with ISO/Oerlikon Metco engineered standards.
• Perform safety inspections on all equipment in accordance with NEC, CGA, and NFPA guidelines.
• Complete calibration and service reports indicating cause and resolution of problems encountered.
• Complete daily timesheets, expense reports, and customer telephone technical reports.

• Minimum 3 years of technical field service (electro‑mechanical) experience with thermal spray experience.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to field service and customer service support responsibilities.
• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and strong customer‑relations abilities.
• Ability to travel 80%, including domestic and international assignments.
• Experience with vacuum systems is helpful.
